Addicted to NA massive NEW ADULT GIVEAWAY!

As a writer, you know you've totally hit the jackpot when you score an agent like Suzie Townsend. She is a bona fide rockstar. And when Jo Volpe took the leap and started up a new agency, New Leaf Literary (of which Suzie is a part), that lottery turned into Powerball. New Leaf does more to support its clients than any other agency I've ever heard of, from orchestrating group author events all over the country, to organizing events like this: Addicted to NA. Happy Agent's Day to the whole New Leaf crew!

So, without further ado, here is the deal. New Leaf Literary is prompting six New Adult titles releasing between now and September, some by the fantabulous Cora Carmack (my agent and editor sister :D), and one of which is A LITTLE TOO FAR, by moi. And this is your chance to win ALL OF THEM! Check out the rafflecopter below to enter. And for a chance at A LITTLE TOO FAR swag, enter here.

Most of you probably know what new adult is, but in case you want more info, check out my post here or the Addicted to NA link above, where my incredible agent gives you her perspective.

And...now the contest. Knock yourselves out, and good luck!

A LITTLE TOO FAR cover! (And a contest for never-before-seen ALTF swag!)

AHHHH! Here it is! There aren't even words for how excited I am about this cover! The HarperCollins/William Morrow art department are my very favorite people at the moment (along with my seriously cool editor, my fabulous publicist, and the digital marketing maven, who did the fun widget).

I love this book. It was a whirlwind to write, and Lexie took me on a wild ride in the process. I hope all y'all have as much fun reading it as I had writing it. There are so many reasons this cover is perfect, which you will know if you decide to take the ride with Lexie. The book is HOT and I dare you to tell me the cover isn't.

So, now I get to share it with you! But, before I get to that...there's a contest at the bottom of this post for one-of-a-kind, never-before-seen A LITTLE TOO FAR swag, so don't forget to enter!

And a few more things about A LITTLE TOO FAR...

First, to whet your appetite, here's what Jennifer L. Armentrout had to say about it:
"More than a ridiculously sexy, HOT read, Desrochers takes you on a wild ride of self-discovery and bittersweet romance." - Jennifer L. Armentrout (J. Lynn), #1 New York Times Bestselling author of Wait for You

And, if that's not enough, here's the back flap:

Have you ever gone just a little too far?

Lexie Banks has.

Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for better part of the last few years…and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome. But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to Confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt…and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy on the eyes deacon…only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either way.

And, now...the cover:

If you hate it, don't tell me, cuz I am sooo in love with it. =)

So, then we have the contest! The kanji symbol for knowledge is central to this novel, so, by way of a teaser and also to explain the meaning of the contest prize:

I trace a finger along the lines of the tattoo over his heart—the kanji symbol for knowledge—as he grasps my thighs and rolls his hips underneath me.

Close up of pendant:                                                                Close up of tattoo (actual size):

The Life of a Writer

Up until very recently, I had three jobs. I joked that they were my "day job" (my physical therapy clinic), my "night job" (writing), and my "weekend job" (lecturing medical seminars). I understand that there are a lot of people out there who don't have any jobs, so I felt very blessed to have three of them. And the bonus was that I loved them all. But three jobs is a lot. So...on May first, I finally gave up the day job. Or, more accurately, my night job became my day job, which puts me down to two jobs. I still have my weekend job, which is really a Wednesday through Sunday commitment, so I've been on the road a lot in the last month (waves to Kansas City, San Francisco, and Las Vegas) but I've been able to devote my days, when I'm not on the road, to writing.

It's been fabulous.

My goal in quitting the day job was really to find balance--smell the flowers, so to speak. With three jobs, family time was hard to find and sleep didn't happen. I'm trying (not always successfully) to limit my writing to normal work hours so I have my evenings for family. And, where it's summer, I'm trying to do random things with my kids during the day. (Because, let's face it, they haven't had a mother in the five years I've been writing.) So, I'm still learning, but my report on my first month as a "full time writer" is positive.

I'm also going to try to take better care of myself. (Read: eat regularly and get some exercise.) I think it's going to be really good. =)

And, in fun A LITTLE TOO FAR news, Harper has scheduled the cover reveal for Wednesday  I can't even express how much I love this cover, and I can't wait to share it with you! If you are a blogger and want to be involved in the reveal, please comment below! =)
