Yesterday was my fave five boys, so today it’s the girls’ turn. This is the list of my favorite five heroines I read or re-read in 2010.
It was really hard leaving Adam off the list yesterday, but Mia is definitely here today. I’ve never read a character truer to herself than Mia. She loves her family and her boyfriend, but still values her individuality.
She’s doesn’t take crap off anyone.
Ditto
Katniss Everdeen from Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Ditto (Are you seeing a pattern here?)
I occasionally get the interview question, “Which fictional character from another book would you pair Luc up with?” The answer is Sophie, but I can’t get into why without spoiling HH for those of you who haven’t read it. ;p
How about you? Which fictional women do it for you?
I loved Tessa from Clockwork Angel this year. She grows so much during the book and she remains strong despite everything. I am also a huge fan of Grace from Shiver/Linger because she is so believable and cool - she's somebody you'd want to be friends with. Oh and Ani from Radiant Shadows for her sheer kickass-ness. Oh and Yelena from the Study series. There are so many characters I love!! I could go on forever.
ReplyDeleteLovely post! So interesting to see your fave YA chicks!
ReplyDeleteRose Hathaway from Vampire Academy series. The girl is strong, says whatever she wants and whenever she wants, is funny and has good taste in guys (I want Dimitri for me!). ;)
ReplyDeleteI really liked Katniss and Grace from Linger, as well. And maybe Charlotte as well from Past Midnight!! :)
ReplyDeleteRose Hathaway from Vampire Academy. She won't let people take over or care of her, she needs to protect everyone she loves, and she's really strong. Plus, Dimitri.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting the strong sense that I need to read Vampire Academy soon. Maybe that's what I'll do with my new Audible.com membership =)
ReplyDeleteThis is cool as! hmm, i wonder what my top 5 are,
ReplyDeleteMegan Fox from WE HEAR THE DEAD
ReplyDeleteChloe from Darkest Powers Series
ReplyDeleteRose from Vampire Academy
Dru from Strange Angels
Kaylee from Soul Screamers Series
Sophie from Hex Hall
Sarcasm and quick wit are awesome in leading female characters!
