Achtung Baby!

Personal Demons is officially in production. Yay! And since we have a “near final” draft (things will change a little with copy edits) FinePrint submitted Personal Demons to German agents on Tuesday.

My truly fabulous agent called this morning with GREAT news! We received a pre-empt today from German publisher Rowohlt. Apparently, they’re “very eager” about Personal Demons, which is good, cuz so am I. =) So, German people will be reading my book…in GERMAN! OMG! It’s kinda messing with my head that there’ll be something out there in the world that I wrote, but CAN’T READ! O_O

Here's the little place in Germany I'm gonna buy when Personal Demons sells a bazillion copies there. =) Nice view, eh? I could get used to that...

Suzie says we’ll be going out to the rest of the world in the next few weeks. *bites nails* It's a big place.

In the meantime, I’m revising Original Sin so I can send it off to my super-stupendous crit partner.

What are you all working on? Anything wild happening in your WIP? Love to hear it =)

  7. Let's have a sauerkraut and sausage party to celebrate! Congrats, Lisa. You're going to be famous AND own a castle...;-)

  8. Andrea--Next week, I hope.

Nikki--I'll eat the sauerkraut and leave the sausage for you. Or we can scrap that and just eat twizzlers. =)

  9. Fabulous news! May I come to visit when you live in that castle? I see an inviting turret. On second thought, how many flights of stairs would it take to get to one of those turrets?

  10. Woo hoo! I'm still doing the Uncoordinated Jiggle of Joy for you!

I just sent my sequel to the agent on Thursday. I predict I'll last another day before I start something new.

  15. Good choice, although I hear its haunted, the whole lake thing, ya know?

I went there when I was a teen, very beautiful.

    Congrats on the completion!

  16. I'd always wonder if the translation changes the story in little ways. Ever run a statement from English to another language and then back to English using Babelfish? Scary...

  17. Monica--
Haunted would be good--a novel waiting to happen. :p

    Ed--
I have, and you're right. I'm hoping an actual human is doing the translation. They'd be more likely to pick up on nuances, me thinks.
