Me and 400,000 of my closest friends...

I just spent the day in Yosemite with 400,000 of my closest friends. Here are all of us at Yosemite Falls:

I’m lucky. Not too many people can wake up in the morning and say, “Hey, let’s spend the day in Yosemite!” But, the weather was gorgeous and there has been a lot of late snow, so the falls are still full, so I woke up yesterday morning and said, “Hey, let’s spend the day in Yosemite!”

Problem is, it was a holiday weekend. Holiday weekends in Yosemite mean traffic jams. Don’t know what I was thinking.

Upside, this is your view while you’re stuck in traffic.

When we finally found a parking spot (it was the very last one in the whole valley—really) we got out and got to stand here:
and here:

It’s been a few years since we went up, so I’m glad we did. But, next time, I’m going on a Wednesday.

  1. I'm glad to know the park is appreciated, but traffic jams--sheesh. At least you got to soak up some of the wonder and plan on going back during a less crowded moment. It is truly spectacular, and I am thankful every day for our forefathers (and mothers) who saved these lands for us.

  2. Gorgeous pics! I'm going there in August and now I'm even more excited about the trip!

  3. So jealous! That is beautiful!!!

  4. Whew! Sounds like US Parks are very different from Canadian Parks! But that is gorgeous and seems like it'd be worth it! I've never been, but would love to visit. thanks for the heads up about holidays!

  5. Yosemite is beautiful, traffic jam or no. And, Terry, I've been to lots of US national parks and the only one I've ever been in a traffic jam in is Yosemite. =)

  7. Beautiful pictures! I'd love to visit there someday:)

I've been in a traffic jam in a park before - Yellowstone. But I didn't mind because the view was spectacular.

  8. Wow! Beautiful :) Great pictures. I've never been to Yosemite, but it's definitely one of the places I'd love to go!

  9. love the pics lisa! :)

i swear my veri word - was "Tos turds"

  10. Melissa--I think it all depends on when you go. We drove into Yellowstone on June 10 a few years ago and there was 10 inches of snow. That caused a bit of a traffic jam. =)

Shelli--veri words are beyond my control. No offense intended. =)
