A LITTLE TOO FAR cover reveal for REAL! (And a contest for FREE BOOKS!)

Okay. So, this is the real deal. Promise. And, to make up for teasing you with the other cover, Harper is including an excerpt with this cover reveal! So, keep reading after the cover.

But wait! There's more! Because if you make it all the way to the bottom of this post, you'll find a place to enter to win SIGNED BOOKS AND SWAG!

To tantalize you a bit more, here's what Jennifer L. Armentrout had to say about A LITTLE TOO FAR:
"More than a ridiculously sexy, HOT read, Desrochers takes you on a wild ride of self-discovery and bittersweet romance." - Jennifer L. Armentrout (J. Lynn), #1 New York Times Bestselling author of Wait for You

And, if that's not enough, here's the back flap:

Have you ever gone just a little too far?

Lexie Banks has.

Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for better part of the last few years…and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome. But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to Confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt…and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy on the eyes deacon…only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either way.

So, without further ado, presenting the actual FINAL cover of A LITTLE TO FAR!

A LITTLE TOO FAR cover! (And a contest for never-before-seen ALTF swag!)

AHHHH! Here it is! There aren't even words for how excited I am about this cover! The HarperCollins/William Morrow art department are my very favorite people at the moment (along with my seriously cool editor, my fabulous publicist, and the digital marketing maven, who did the fun widget).

I love this book. It was a whirlwind to write, and Lexie took me on a wild ride in the process. I hope all y'all have as much fun reading it as I had writing it. There are so many reasons this cover is perfect, which you will know if you decide to take the ride with Lexie. The book is HOT and I dare you to tell me the cover isn't.

So, now I get to share it with you! But, before I get to that...there's a contest at the bottom of this post for one-of-a-kind, never-before-seen A LITTLE TOO FAR swag, so don't forget to enter!

And a few more things about A LITTLE TOO FAR...

First, to whet your appetite, here's what Jennifer L. Armentrout had to say about it:
"More than a ridiculously sexy, HOT read, Desrochers takes you on a wild ride of self-discovery and bittersweet romance." - Jennifer L. Armentrout (J. Lynn), #1 New York Times Bestselling author of Wait for You

And, now...the cover:

If you hate it, don't tell me, cuz I am sooo in love with it. =)

So, then we have the contest! The kanji symbol for knowledge is central to this novel, so, by way of a teaser and also to explain the meaning of the contest prize:

I trace a finger along the lines of the tattoo over his heart—the kanji symbol for knowledge—as he grasps my thighs and rolls his hips underneath me.

Close up of pendant:                                                                Close up of tattoo (actual size):

German Personal Demons Cover

This is kind of exciting for me. It's my first foreign cover! My German publisher, Rowoholt, has retitled Personal Demons. Its German name is Angel Eyes. They've also done a whole new cover (to go with the Angel Eyes theme).
I translated the tagline and it says "between Heaven and Hell."

So, what do you think?

Two seriously cool ways of winning Personal Demons!

Dudes! You want a copy of Personal Demons? There are two totally fun contests going on right now, but both end on Tuesday (8/24), so get your butts over there!

First is YA Addict's Cover Re-creation Contest. Do you like the Personal Demons cover? Do you not like it? Think it should be hotter? Sweeter? Darker? Either way, here's your chance to show us your ideas on a new PD cover. I'm DYING to see what y'all come up with! The winner gets a signed ARC =)

Second, Luc is taking questions over on Paranormal Point of View. All you have to do is ask him a question for a shot at winning the VERY FIRST signed finished copy of Personal Demons. You ever been inside a demons head? It's surprising the things you'll find in there. Go ask him stuff.

Good luck!!! Happy reading =)

Whew! And more chances to win Personal Demons...

Last week nearly ate me alive. But don't throw me on that cart, cuz "I'm not dead yet!" (Sticking with my Monty Python theme from last week.)

I got my ARCs. (I did all kinds of ARC art. :p) I'm mailing them today and tomorrow, for those of you waiting! =)

And I got my cover.

And my editorial letter from my seriously cool editor on Original Sin. (but you really don't want to see that)

I also had my amazing crit partner, Andrea's, Nightshade #3 (Bloodrose) to critique. I finished it Saturday and, it's fabulous!

I got my marching orders from my designer for content on my new website (coming soon at http://www.lisadwrites.com/).

And I ran some awesome contests. Thanks to the hordes of you who entered my Twitter contest. If you missed it, the task was to look at the cover and tell me, in 140 characters or less, who Frannie should be with and why. Here are some of my favorite entries.

@thmafi: Frannie should pick @DanKrokos because otherwise he'll go after Gabe & Luc before she does. #PersonalDemons (Dan has already laid claim to Luc, actually :p)

@AminaBlack: don't be cruel she doesn't have to choose. She could have both and I know that I'm not the only one thinking it. #PersonalDemons

@angelgirl122193: Frannie should choose neither of them, become a nun, and let me have a love triangle of my own w/ luc and gabe =) #PersonalDemons

@ettrenas: LUC! Because any guy that makes you think twice about choosing hell over heaven is a total winner ;) #PersonalDemons

And my very favoritest entry:
@MireyahWolfe: Frannie should be with Luc, because...let's face it. With those eyes, she'll never lose him when the lights go out. #PersonalDemons

Dudes! I was ROFL!

But, the winner, as chosen by the randomizer was @sophisti_katied! *throws virtual confetti*

It was really fun! I hope to do another Twitter contest closer to release =)

If you didn't win, but you still want an ARC, visit my July Debut Contest and enter! You can also enter to win a finished copy of Personal Demons or five other amazing fall releases in A Good Addiction's Fall Release Six Title Contest. So go enter!! Yay!

So, even though I feel like I've been ravaged by a killer rabbit (you really have to see The Holy Grail) I have my holy hand grenade ready and I'll be back for more tomorrow with my Personal Demons Sneak Peek #5! :D

PERSONAL DEMONS COVER!!!!!

Dudes! The wait has nearly killed me, but *drum roll* Personal Demons has some rad new clothes!

I want to send a thanks to the totally amazing people who put together a SERIOUSLY HOT and TOTALLY COOL Personal Demons cover: Cliff Nielsen, the artist who did Cassie Clare's covers, and my awesome Tor Art guy, Seth, who came up with a truly fabulous ARC cover and pulled this one together with Cliff's incredible art.

So...you've all seen Gabe, my Hot Boy With Wings:

Here's Luc and his glowing red eyes. He's clearly on a mission. And he's smokin'! Literally!! And I don't mean a cigarette.

Now, picture Frannie caught in the middle and you have this:

What do you think? Hot? Cool?

I have heard it from on high...

There will be a cover. Personal Demons will not remain naked for much longer. It's getting some really rad clothes very soon. Maybe even this week.

I got my first look at the new Personal Demons cover. It's totally hot and seriously cool. I can't wait to show you.

But, I can't yet.

What I can show you are some other really cool covers that my totally amazing cover artist, Cliff Nielsen, has done.

He did this:

And this:

What I'm also allowed to show you is this:

That's me when I saw my shiny new cover with my smokin' hot boys. (In Luc's case, that's quite literal.) They are totally yummy. =)

BEA and Ms. Book Sniper

Thanks so much for all the Personal Demons cover love. =) You guys totally rock. I can’t wait (but, of course, I have to) to see the “official” cover. Hopefully sometime next month. I’ll share it as soon as I have it. :p

I’m very excited, and also a little nervous, for Personal Demons to be out in the world. I love my characters so much it’s like they’re members of my family. I’m thrilled beyond words that you are all going to get to meet them soon. I hope you love them as much as I do! Check out what Ms. Book Sniper had to say about Personal Demons. :D

Today is officially the last day of BEA. Still lots of fabulous things going on in New York—panels and signings—and I wish I was there. But I’m not. So I’ve been writing. I hope you have too. If you’re participating in the Official BEA Left-Out-Author Pity Party, then comment below with your word count from yesterday.

And DON’T FORGET! Tomorrow is the last day to enter my May Debut Give-Away. Enter to win you very own signed Personal Demons ARC, or other May YA debuts!

Personal Demons ARC cover!!! And OBEALOAPP

No, that wasn't me having a seizure. It's the Official BEA Left-Out-Author Pitty Party. If you're participating, don't forget to log your wordcount for yesterday (or today, if your done writing--which you shouldn't be, BTW) in the comment section below.

So, the cover...

Keep in mind that this isn’t the “official” cover, but it’s the one you’ll see out there for the next few months, until Personal Demons releases in September.

Ready?

Okay…

So, the real cover will be done sometime in the next few months. Don’t forget to check back! ’Kay?

All right…here we go…

But, remember; don’t go looking for this cover in the bookstores in September. It will be different. This one is just for the ARCs.

So, here it is, the unofficial, mostly temporary ARC cover for Personal Demons.

Did I mention that I think it’s clever? I really like it, actually.

Oh, sorry… So, here it is:

What do you think? Simple but clever, yeah? :p

So this means that we should have ARCs soon, and we’ll be able to get them out to all of you. Yay!

If you haven't entered to win your very own signed ARC of Personal Demons, or another fabulous 2010 YA debut, head to my May Debut Give-Away. There are only two days left to enter. Hurry!

Cover news, take 2

So, here’s the latest cover news—and it’s almost all good. There will be Personal Demons ARCs, but they won’t have the official cover on them. There are a few of you chomping at the bit to get your hands on ARCs so we can’t really delay getting them out much longer. But, it looks like an amazing artist (can't say who now) will be doing my cover and it will take a few more weeks to pull something fabulous together.

So, I will have something to show you, but it may not be for another month or so. What’s that? You can’t wait? I know! Me either!!

Personal Demons Cover

Ha! Did I fake you out?

Okay, sorry. But this post really is about my cover.

So…there was a minor snag in the cover art for Personal Demons, but I heard from my seriously cool editor yesterday and we’re back on track. What that means for me, and any of you waiting on ARCs, is that the wait is going to be just a little longer. We’re really hoping to have ARCs out with a totally fabulous cover in mid-June.

In the meantime, I thought it’d be fun to have all of you help with the cover design. Remember that we’re talking about a paranormal romance—angels, demons. For those of you not familiar with my book, here’s the Personal Demons jacket copy:

Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She's spent years keeping everyone at a distance—even her closest friends—and it seems her senior year will be more of the same...until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can't seem to stay away from him. What she doesn't know is that Luc works in Acquisitions—for Hell—and she possesses a unique skill set that has the king of Hell tingling with anticipation. All Luc has to do is get her to sin, and he’s as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance.

Unfortunately for Luc, Heaven has other plans, and the angel, Gabe, is going to do whatever it takes to make sure that Luc doesn’t get what he came for. And it isn't long before they find themselves fighting for more than just her soul.

But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay…for all of them.

So, we're gonna play a cover game. I’m posting images below and taking votes. Comment below with your choice of cover concept. (Disclamer: None of these are actually going to be my cover. We're having fun. Fun! FUN, I SAY!!! SMILE!)

Okay, here we go:

It doesn't really fit my book, but what's not to like? It will certainly catch peoples' eye, and that's the purpose of a cover, right?

So, what do you think? I promise to laugh my a$$ off seriously consider your comments and pass them along to my art crew. (not)
