German Personal Demons Cover

This is kind of exciting for me. It's my first foreign cover! My German publisher, Rowoholt, has retitled Personal Demons. Its German name is Angel Eyes. They've also done a whole new cover (to go with the Angel Eyes theme).
I translated the tagline and it says "between Heaven and Hell."

So, what do you think?

  1. Please don't kill me, but I think that the original cover suits the story better. Also the title. I love Personal Demons, it cries adventure. (^_^)

  2. Congrats! I love this cover! :) Oh! Is there gonna be a German Personal Demons book giveaway? That would rock. I'm gonna take up German next semester.

  3. I love the cover but I think the title's biased towards the angel thing (although, I'm Team Gabe for now) :)

  4. Congrats! The cover is really nice :D
I can't wait to see how Italian cover is going to be, I'll send you a pic as soon as it is out!

  5. Awesome title and cover since they decided to stick with a theme after renaming it. Kind of makes you want to swing towards Team Gabe, but who knows.

  6. No Offense, but this cover somewhat reminds me of the covers they made for the House of Night series by Kristen and P.C. Cast. It's the lacy design on the right hand side that does it.

Aside from that, it does look like something that would catch my eyes enough to pick up in a book store and read to back.

  10. Ooh I really like this cover. I'm usually not a fan of a cover that's just a face but they did a really good job here with the overall colour, design, and text :). I think the US cover tells more what kind of book Personal Demons us but I think I like the German cover more.

  11. Oooh. I LOVE it. :D It's really awesome. Do you have a release date yet? I can get you a picture of it in the wild once it's out. :D

  12. Definitely sides toward Team Gabe, which might disappoint readers since he never gets to narrate. I wonder if/how the back cover description correlates to the front cover/title...

Precious--I might be able to do a German edition give-away. We'll see =)

Carolin--no release date yet. I'll keep you posted.

Vicki--I don't have the jacket copy yet, so we'll have to wait to see what they come up with.

  14. I really love this cover - the details around the edges are fantastically artistic and the grey's and blue's look awesome together.

That must be so cool getting foreign editions of your book. congrats!

  16. It's a beautiful cover, but it doesn't seem to capture the sensibility of the novel, that struggle between Heaven and Hell. Also, the Personal Demons' title has that double meaning that's very catchy, but the German tagline kind of makes up for it. Regardless, you have to be stoked! Wishing you continued success.

  17. Wicked! I have to say I rather wish they had left the title alone. The tagline however does give away the gist of the struggle. (Hugs)Indigo

  18. I love it! But I like the original cover better! It suits the whole image of Frannie choosing between Gabe or Luc - heaven or hell :) Lol! It's gorgeous though!

  19. This is absolutely gorgeous. I am german, so I might have to get this in an international copy. I like the cover art better. The tagline is PERFECT. Love

  20. I think the cover and the title are gorgeous and really go together! It kind of gives the impression that it's more about Gabe than Luc though - like maybe it would fit more with book 3 from Gabe's POV?

  21. I am so tempted to just walk up to people and be like " Zwischen Himmel und Holle"

  22. It's nice! But the blurry thing is bothering me. Well at least it's super far from ugly :D
